I have been told that a power washer (pressure washer) is the way to go: lay the frames down on the lawn or whatever and blast off the old wax and other materials. Presumably the bits of wax are more or less lost in the grass and dirt. I have not tried this, and would be interested to hear from anyone who has.

What do you know about "organic chemical soak solutions?" Can you use these with wooden frames? Do you have to remove plastic foundation from wooden frames to use this technique? Or do you just use it on plastic frames?
