The Great Plains Master Beekeeping (GPMB) Bee Fun Day is this Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14.
It's one of those events forced to go virtual by the pandemic--like our meetings! This year Bee Fun Day has become Virtual Bee Fun Day. The good news is, we can reach halfway across the continent to drop in on an educational event which would otherwise be out of reach.
Virtual Bee Fun Day will be a combination of lectures (for example, honey bee health, pesticide exposure, planting bee-friendly landscapes) and demonstrations (honey harvesting, making soaps and lotions, and more). One of the presenters will be Dr. Judy Wu-Smart, whom some of us met (virtually!) at our May meeting.
The event is offered for free. However, it's a GPMB fundraiser, and they'd appreciate a $10 donation. You can learn more and register at https://gpmb.unl.edu/virtual-bee-fun-day. There's also some information at a Facebook event page: https://gpmb.unl.edu/virtual-bee-fun-day.
Remember that times are given in Central Time! Their 8:30 AM-5:00 PM Saturday schedule means 6:30 AM-3:00 PM for Left Coasters! (And they start 15 minutes earlier on Sunday!) But you don't have to be there when the curtain rises.
