Long Beach Beekeepers
What is a beekeeper to do when it is too cold or wet to inspect their hives? Huddle up and wait for warmer temperatures? No! We prep for Spring!
A trio of beekeeping veterans - Dick Barnes, Bill Lewis and Ray Teurman - will discuss and demonstrate some proactive steps to get ready for the upcoming growth at our February meeting. From assembling a hive box to outfitting your gear box to getting honey supers ready for some liquid gold, we've got you covered.
Our Honey of the Month has Bixby Knolls origins and comes courtesy of Ofelia Rivera.
Long Beach Beekeepers meet on the first Sunday of the month and welcome everyone from the experienced to the novice beekeeper to those just curious about beekeeping. The in-person meeting is open to the general public. Members who opt to attend online will be emailed the meeting link and passcode in advance.
Special thanks to EDCO Recycling & Transfer for hosting our meetings.
