Hello! We continue the work with our little friends at the sanctuary, the Italian bees. On July 16 (visit #2), Bill Lewis and several students had a very eventful morning. They inspected the three hives for mites: removed drone brood from hive #1 and found minimal mites so did not treat; same results at hive #2 but went ahead and tested for mites using both sugar roll and alcohol wash; found hive #3 queenless and with a high mite count, so that hive received an OA pad treatment. This process of drone comb removal, checking for mites, and possible treatment must be repeated every 21 days. Hence our upcoming inspection on August 6. We'd like to invite you to join us at this event.

This clinic will take place at the Bee Sanctuary on Saturday, August 6, from 8-10am. Reserve your spot ASAP by registering now. Once we reach full capacity you will be able to join the wait list, which will give you priority registration at the following event. If possible, we will record each event so we can all follow the progress of our Italian bees, from the comfort of our homes.

This event is free of charge. Registration is required and available to club members.
