Why is mite math important?

We have all heard much about the need to flatten the curve recently. Beekeepers have needed to flatten the (mite) curve now for 30 years. Our Fall hive management starts with properly sampling - both pre- and post-treatment. Dr. Dewey M. Caron Emeritus Professor of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology, University of Delaware and Affiliate Professor, Department of Horticulture, Oregon State University, will review mite sampling and discuss why the number can help focus on management of your hive in September and October. The meeting link will be emailed to all current members in advance of the meeting.
